Donations
Donate your used furniture & White Goods
Do you have unwanted furniture? Why not donate it to us? We recycle good quality furniture and white goods so it doesn’t go to waste in a landfill. This way 100’s of tons of furniture is diverted from landfill, helping our community and our environment. Stock levels are maintained through a combination of community collections and donations of end-of-line or surplus stock from retailers and distributors.
We collect items FREE OF CHARGE that meet Trading Standards, Fire Regulations & other requirements. Check the rules for collection below, and then look at the areas listed to see if we can collect from your area.
Although we collect free of charge whenever possible, we are always grateful when you can drop donated items into us directly as this helps minimise our costs. Please note when bringing donations to the unit this can to be done by appointment only. If you wish to donate to us please call us to discuss this and arrange a time and date to drop your items in.
Collection Rules & Requirements…..
All items must meet Trading Standards & Fire Safety Regulations and other requirements.
They must be: clean; free from rips, tears, and stains; and generally suitable for reuse. All soft furnishings such as sofas must have appropriate labels attached (e.g. fire labels).
Every charity furniture collection is at the discretion of the driver who will evaluate the item when he calls. We are a charity and if we take items that are not suitable for reuse they have to be disposed of at a local recycling centre, we are charged for this, as a resident you are not.
Our ability to accept donations are subject to demand – from time to time, we are inundated with particular items and may have to decline goods that we might take at other times. There are also other items that are simply no longer viable for us to accept such as clothing, bric-a-brack, books and CD’s etc.
For a list of items we are currently able and unable to accept please see the list below, but please remember this does change from time to time. Please call us if you need further information
